Foundations
Are you unsure which route you would like to take in your career? Do you not feel ready to begin an Apprenticeship? Why not take part in the Foundations Programme?
The Foundations Programme is specially designed to develop your skills and help you prepare for either further education, employment or an apprenticeship.
As the name suggests, the aim of the programme is to provide you with a solid foundation and to prepare you for the next steps on your chosen career path.
During the Foundation Learning programme training sessions are delivered to develop skills in ICT, Maths, English, employment skills and personal and social development. While attending the programme you will have the opportunity to work towards accredited qualifications at a level which suits your abilities. You may also access work experience or undertake volunteering to enhance you employability skills (subject to availability).
We aim to deliver Foundation Learning over a 26 week period, however this will depend on which qualifications you work towards and your individual abilities. You will be informed about your length of programme when you enroll.
Fun while you learn
The main focus here is on developing your literacy, numeracy and ICT skills for work or for a further qualification. And we pride ourselves in approaching these subjects in a fun and innovative way, with interactive learning sessions using equipment such as Nintendo DS, Wii, as well as other more formal teaching aids.
