Future Skills

“Research shows that companies who don't invest in training are two-and-a-half times more likely to fail than those that do.”

UK Commission on Employment Skills

Apprenticeships ensure that your workforce has the practical skills and qualifications your organisation needs now and in the future. The mixture of on and off the job learning ensures they learn the skills that work best for your business.

Over 130,000 companies offer Apprenticeship places because they understand the benefits that apprentices bring to their business – increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent work-force.

Improving your bottom line

Apprenticeships deliver real returns to your bottom line. In a recent survey*, the majority of employers said that Apprenticeships helped them to improve productivity and to be more competitive They also said that training apprentices is more cost effective than hiring skilled staff, leading to lower overall training and recruitment costs.

* Apprenticeships, survey conducted by Populus on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council, February 2009.

What can we offer?

We can help you determine your future skills needs and help support you plan your future Workforce Strategy.

Whether this strategy involves Apprenticeships or equipping the current workforce with the skills you need we can help. For more information on equipping your current workforce read Train to Gain.

If your strategy involves Apprenticeships then we can help with recruitment through our vacancy matching scheme and only when both you and your potential Apprentice are happy to move forward will we commence the Apprenticeship Programme.

All this initial work is cost free to you and only if you decide to employ an Apprentice  who is over the age of 19 or embark on a non-funded adult programme will you be asked for any contribution to the cost of training.
