Why Skills?

"The traditional career path is dead the career of the future will be more like crazy paving and we will need to lay the path ourselves"

Paul Irving Managing Director Skillswork

On average people are now changing career every 7 years and this means keeping our skills in good health has never been more important.

At Skills for Growth we offer a number of options for adults from brushing up Maths, English, or ICT to undertaking full Vocational Qualifications (see Train to Gain). We also offer Adult Apprenticeships if you are aged 19 to 24.

Adult Apprenticeships

All our Apprenticeship programmes are employer based and combine the best of both worlds, real work experience with supportive off the job training. All Apprenticeships lead to nationally recognised qualifications and give you the opportunity to earn while you learn.

Advanced Apprenticeships are also a recognised pathway to Higher and Foundation Degrees.

There has now been a fee introduced by the government on employers to cover approximately 50% of training costs for all apprentices aged 19 or over.
