Hairdressing
You have an interview with us and we will arrange an interview with a salon where we have a vacancy. You join a short induction course that leads you into the Training Programme.
You attend our Training Centre (where we have a modern, well-equipped training salon) on two days every two weeks to gain both the underpinning knowledge of hairdressing and the practical skills for a National Vocational Qualification in Hairdressing, awarded by City & Guilds. You will also gain Key Skills in Communication, Application of Number and a certificate in Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
On the other days of the month you will be employed by a reputable salon gaining valuable practical experience in all hairdressing skills.
Vocationally experienced and qualified staff monitor all the work in the Training Centre and in the salons.
Assessments take place regularly in Bexley Training Group's salon and within your workplace.
Whilst training, you will be receiving at least the minimum training allowance.
The training programme is generally funded for 25 months. Most committed Learners are employed as junior stylists at the end of their training.
Being employed within a salon the majority of your practical development will take place whilst you are at work. At Bexley Training Group we provide the underpinning knowledge to support your skills. Assessment will take place throughout the programme both within the training salon and your workplace. Hairdressing can be very hard work but can also be a lot of fun if you are motivated and eager to learn. Additional opportunities exist for you to receive the support and development you will need for a future in the industry.
