Customer Service
You have an initial interview with us to check we can offer you the kind of training you are seeking. Acceptance onto an Apprenticeship programme always depends upon a corresponding employer placement - we can support you in finding a suitable job through our database of local employers.
You join a short induction course that leads you into the Training Programme.
You attend our Training Centre one day per week to study for a National Vocational Qualification in Customer Service awarded by OCR. As an Apprentice you will aim for Level 2. You will also gain Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number (A Technical Certificate is also covered). Some GCSE grades as well as components of a GNVQ may exempt you from the Key Skill examinations.
If you are an Advanced Apprentice you will work towards Level 3 NVQ with relevant Key Skills and enhancement units, and a Technical Certificate. On the other 4 days of the week you will be working with a company gaining valuable practical experience in Customer Service. Your tutor will come and visit you in your work placement at about 6-8 weekly intervals to see how you are getting on and help you overcome any problems you might meet, especially if this is your first experience in the world of work. Work based assessments will be carried out at these visits, and additional assessment visits booked depending on actions set and progress made. Whilst training, your allowance will be determined by your employer. Bexley Training Group insist on a minimum starting salary and encourage employers to consider salary reviews throughout the training period.
The training programme generally lasts 15 months. However, many Learners complete their qualification in just under a year and continue full-time employment.
